Please feel free to copy/paste this to your Congressmen/women, Senators and/or anybody else you feel like! I want to make a push to protect the ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT. Too many other wild animals depend on those animals that are already endangered! Our government has no right to play God with wildlife just because they can't balance a budget that they created and screwed up themselves in the first place! Removing or replacing the ESA threatens the entire planet ecology! Please act before it is too late! (Remember to sign your name at the bottom) PS - feel free to sign the following petitions - PLEASE DO!

I will play the part of the animal being hunted/shot! It's a nice sunny autumn morning, and here I am out in the middle of this field with nothing to do today! I think I will just go for a walk and see what I run into!
Boy it sure is nice out and not a soul around. I could just sit here all day and enjoy doing absolutely nothing! (suddenly there is a noise and a strange scent). What was that noise? I don't see anything there, but there is a strange smell now. Should I investigate it or just run away? (more noises) What ever it is, it is getting closer fast. I better go this way as quietly as I can. I wonder what it is that I heard, and what is that strange smell? I better go check on my family, to make sure they are ok. (the animal see's movement behind it) What is that? Why is it following me? It's getting too close for comfort but I am moving as fast as I dare without being seen! (hunter makes a noise from his rifle) That sure sounded strange, I better hurry up and get out of here. (animal starts running faster towards the woods). What is this thing that is chasing me? (the shot rings out) OUCH! What was that? It stings so much! Why is the ground turning red? What did I do? How come this hurts so badly? Why I am having a hard time walking now? (and a second shot) I...can't...catch...my...breath! My...legs...won't...work! (animal trips and falls) Where is my family? What is this thing that hit me? I am so scared! (animal collapses as a silent darkness sets in) Hunter - well that sure is a pretty animal and it sure was a great shot! Meanwhile, the remaining family members can only sit and wonder, what happened to mom? THE END No matter what species the animal is - we ALL share so much in common
1. We all breath oxygen 2. We all feel pain when we get hurt 3. We all are protective over what is ours (family, property, territory) 4. We all have our good moments and bad moments 6. We ALL make mistakes that we can learn from 7. We all can be passive or aggressive - depending on what's at stake 8. Whether it is fur, feathers or clothing - we ALL wear something 9. We ALL play a vital role in nature 10. We are all scavengers and/or predators at 1 point or another 11. We all show affection to our family - specifically animals that tend to mate for life! 12. We all fear the unknown and act out of instinct because of it 13. We all work to provide for our families 14. We all like to play once in a while 15. We all can be alarmed easily 16. Humans tend to destroy more than we create but animals take care of what they have 17. WE ALL DESERVE TO LIVE IN PEACE Dear Douglas,
Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding H.R. 3526, the Conserving Ecosystems by Ceasing the Importation of Large (CECIL) Animal Trophies Act. Your views and opinions are valuable to me as I consider the important issues of the day. As you may know, the CECIL Act would curb the trophy hunting of species that are threatened or endangered, such as the African Lion. As an animal lover, I believe it is important to value and protect all endangered species for the larger role they play in our ecosystem. I understand your concerns regarding wildlife protection and, while there has not been a vote scheduled for this bill, please be assured that I will keep your views in mind should the CECIL Act come before the full House of Representatives. Thank you once again for taking the time to contact me. From time to time, I provide electronic updates on issues in which you might be interested. If you would like to receive my E-newsletter, please sign up on my website at http://bustos.house.gov. On my website you can also see my voting record, and get further information about the issues important to our district. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance to you or your family. Kindest Regards, Cheri -- Congresswoman Cheri Bustos Seventeenth District of Illinois Email: bustos.house.gov/contact Facebook: facebook.com/RepCheri Twitter: @RepCheri I have come to the conclusion that humans no longer have the capacity of using common sense. Too many people wanna mess with the natural order of life and disturb and/or destroy the culture in the process! Why do we always have to interfere with wildlife, or intrude on their territory? Oh sure they may have this vision (dream) that they are doing something for the best interest of all, but in the end it is their own agenda behind it all! Although wildlife was never meant to be domesticated, doesn't it stand to reason that MOST (NOT ALL) animals can be domesticated to an extent? Ever wonder why? Because animals are intelligent! Some animals that can NOT be tamed would be mostly venomous animals, simply because they are dangerous to handle. Thus since many species of wildlife are NOT venomous they can be handled with less fear! But still we fear so many animals that we go out of our way to harm them before they can harm us!
But, many animals are used for so many positive things! Animals show love in ways we as humans just can't fathom! I know you have seen domesticated pets reaction when you give them a treat, or when you come home after a long day at work! Animals can even sense when humans are upset, angry, tired or even sad! They are used as therapy animals, farming animals (when treated properly). All animals can live happy peaceful lives and we CAN co-exist with them ALL! Lastly an animal will show you love like you've never known before - out of loyalty! How many ways do humans exploit animals? By:
We have all seen and/or heard the rumors surrounding NUMEROUS animal sanctuaries (agencies/organizations) and how they either part take in, promote/support or even sponsor various animal culls.
I've seen info regarding WWF & WWF International, Defenders Of Wildlife, Wolf Haven and several others myself, and I find it extremely hard to trust those organizations anymore now! The BLM, EPA, DNR and USFWS are ALL supposed to be entrusted with our wildlife's best benefits yet they ALL are run by the Government which tend to lean on their own agendas through scandals, and cover ups! Need proof? Just take a look at the the WAG group from Washington State - you know, the state that just recently allowed the wanton slaughter of members of the Profanity Peak Pack! Did you realize some members on the WAG group included members from D.O.F. and Wolf Haven? I know the names of the individuals and have contacted them myself, but just like everything else - they either deny or or refuse to reply! But, they continue to ask for donations for wildlife! So answer me this - how can we trust ANY organization to take care of our wildlife? |
